PSA: Scones are one of the best things ever to make!
I decided I’d try something new and that something was scones. I recently found a recipe for some that really intrigued me: Raspberry Scones with Rose Glaze. OOO LA LA, am I right?
Scones sounds super complicated, right? Or at least they did to me. When I think of scones, like sweet triangle shaped scones, I think of France and tea and French pastries. So naturally, I assumed scones were super hard and fancy. BOY, was I wrong! All you do is pour some dry ingredients in a bowl, cut in some butter, add heavy cream, stir, and you have yourself some scones. Literally four steps, so quick and easy. If that’s not enough, you have to use your hands to mold the dough and get it all together and that’s always fun. Lastly, you might think that since they’re so easy that they probably would taste just okay, but no. They were SOOO GOOD. One of my favorite things I’ve ever baked. What I’m trying to say folks, is there is not a single downside to making scones. I’m falling in love and it’s with scones!

So get out there and make yourself some scones!!
Recipe and notes:
This recipe was really good, a couple notes though. I cooked them for 14 minutes because I thought they weren’t golden enough on the tops. This was way too long and the bottoms were slightly toasty. So what I would say is don’t expect too much goldening on top. Also, I added some heavy cream to the glaze because mine was super thick and also I added less rose water like a half a teaspoon or so because otherwise it taste a little perfumey, ya know? Anyways recipe is below:
